2018 NACSA Leader

Charter School Director, Riverside County Office of Education

George Washington Carver stated, “Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.”

Dr. Corey Loomis is passionate about providing high-quality educational opportunities to help unlock the golden door of freedom for all students. His professional experiences for the past 22 years span from preschool through adult education. Corey has held administrative positions in the traditional public schools, alternative schools, charter school, and charter school authorizing. His current work includes overseeing the Charter Schools Unit for Riverside County Office of Education in California. Corey earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Redlands.

As a charter school parent, coupled with his experiences in both the traditional and charter school systems, Corey considers himself a “bridge builder” to the challenges and complexities of operating and authorizing charter schools. Personally, Corey is married to his beautiful wife of 21 years. They have three awesome children that keep them exceptionally busy. In his free time, Corey loves spending time with his family and mountain biking.
