Executive Director, Hawaii State Public Charter School Commission

Sione Thompson’s experience in administration and management extends to the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu as the Project Director for Title III. While there, he coordinated programs that support college access, retention, and persistence, particularly among Native Hawaiian population.

Sione notably served as Principal at Saint Louis School. He began his 10-year career at Saint Louis as a social sciences teacher and worked his way through the ranks to Dean of Students, Vice Principal and then Principal.

Sione has worked with the Charter School Commission for four years. He led the organization through its first strategic plan. He also led a reorganization that aligned the Commission’s vision and mission to serve the students of Hawaiʻi.

He holds a Graduate Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Hawaiʻi and continues to learn each and every day.
