Tips for Virtual Capacity Interviews

Tips for Virtual Capacity Interviews

Capacity interviews are a critical component of the new school application review processes. These interviews can provide crucial opportunities to secure information to address or confirm deficiencies in written applications, enable authorizers to make appropriate recommendations for or against approval of new school applications, and ensure only well-prepared groups with strong likelihoods of success open new charter schools.

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, authorizers continue to navigate uncharted territory. The new reliance on virtual communication has prompted this supplement to NACSA’s suite of resources and plug and play tools for capacity interviews, published in September 2019.  This new guidance can help charter school authorizers develop a strategy for adapting capacity interview protocols and processes to a virtual environment – effectively.
