NACSA’s Response to Biden-Administration’s Implementation of Statewide Testing

NACSA’s Response to Biden-Administration’s Implementation of Statewide Testing

We applaud the Biden Administration for supporting implementation of statewide testing in 2020-2021, and not using results for high-stakes accountability. We also support the flexibility for states on timing and length of assessments, given the unprecedented learning conditions brought on by the coronavirus. This mirrors our stance from September 2020, and we urge states and schools to use testing results for diagnostic purposes, targeted support for students, and research purposes. Read our stance on standardized tests from September 2020 here.
