Drew Allsopp is the director of policy for Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor Daniel J. McKee, leading and supporting initiatives in education, energy, small business development, and municipal government. Previously, Drew was charter school coordinator at the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), where he managed RIDE’s systems of charter school oversight and new school approval. Prior to joining RIDE, Drew was founding deputy director at Rhode Island Mayoral Academies, a nonprofit organization supporting the growth of diverse, mayor-led charter schools. Drew began his career as a high school teacher in New York City. He holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master’s degree from Brown University. He lives in Rhode Island with his wife and two sons, where he plays guitar and surfs as often as possible.
