Executive Director, NYSED Charter School Office

David Frank is the Executive Director of the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Charter School Office.  In his role, David authorizes 81 charter schools across New York state, as well as the creation of new schools. In prior roles, David was the Director of Charter Policy and Analytics at the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) and the Director of School Supports at the NYC Charter Schools Center. In those positions, David provided oversight, regulatory guidance, operational, financial, teacher certification, and professional development support for schools. David has also worked on the development of educational programs for at-risk youth and students with disabilities. He holds an MS in Developmental Psychology.
