Dr. Delia Castillo is a coordinator in the Charter School Office of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) since 2017. In this role, she oversees county-authorized charter schools and reviews charter appeals. Previously, Delia Castillo worked in the Charter Schools Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District for five years, where she oversaw up to 24 independent and affiliated charter schools and reviewed charter petition applications.

Her extensive background in the field of education spans 20 years of site-, district-, and county-level experience, having served as an administrator, teacher, school plan writer, and a school founding team member. Delia Castillo earned her Doctorate in Education from Pepperdine University.

Delia plays in the Sterling Flute Choir and LACOE’s Aloha Ukulele Ensemble.
