Steve Canavero is known for his education leadership in Nevada, where he served as the State Superintendent of Public Instruction at the Nevada Department of Education. Previously, he was appointed by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to serve as the state’s director of the Public Charter School Authority and before that established and ran the Nevada Department of Education’s Office of Charter Schools.

Steve is a long-time charter veteran, having spent over 13 years working in and with charter schools in California as dean of students, principal and director of accountability.
